Georg Kienesberger received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in computer science from the TU Wien, Vienna, Austria, in 2009. From 2005 to 2010 his research interests were mainly in the field of control flow analysis. Besides his academic career, he also worked in the industry including, for instance, Siemens Austria, where he developed a custom network monitoring solution, and Alcatel-Lucent, where he worked as a consultant in the fields of network management systems, software engineering & design and high availability solutions. Furthermore, he worked as a lecturer at the SAE Technology Institute.
Since 2010 he is with the Institute of Computer Technology at the Vienna University of Technology where he started working in the Energy&IT group. He is working on various projects in the field of Smart Grids and information and communication technology for energy systems in general, where he is also involved in teaching. Additionally, he is responsible for project management and in 2012 became the head of the Energy&IT group. His current research concentrates on Smart Grid architectures with a special focus on security and privacy in this area.
