Description

Public lighting for streets as well as for walkways and bikeways is responsible for a huge amount of the overall communal energy consumption. The main objective of project SIRIUS+ is the development of an energy efficient system that includes a stronger integration and combination of measurement data for detecting the presence of different traffic participants as well as highly optimized LED-lights and specially adapted control and management strategies. The system itself will look on the traffic in its entirety to open up the possibility for efficiency improvements with traffic adaptive control of the public lighting in areas that would not provide this possibility at this moment. A first step to create a standardized, efficient system for traffic adaptive lighting management with open interfaces should also be a part of the project.
